You know the feeling....you think things are finally getting better and then WHAM you are back to earth with a bang.
Over the last three and a half years I have had serious on-going personal issues, but I do finally see an end in sight. But last week a new challenge raised its head. I work for a hand surgeon and have been having wrist pain for some months now. I had an MRI last week and it seems that I have a very rare disease of one of the bones in my wrist. There is very little literature available but it seems that this will not get better and so it is a case of trying to stop it getting worse.
To those of you out there who know the value of our wonderful, beautiful, creative and loyal hands I ask that you throw a little prayer heavenward that my wrist will not get any worse. I have to rest it for the next six weeks and then have a repeat MRI. Meanwhile there will be very little mini-making or any other creativity from me. I believe in the power of prayer and so would ask, if you have time. Please.

Hi there! I also believe in the power of prayer and you´ll be in mine tonight! Fingers crossed that your wrist will not get worse!!! With a big hug, Sandra

Carol, yes, what is a crafter without her/his hands...sorry you have such an affliction. Sending prayers and hugs your way from Rhode Island, USA.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I'll say a prayer for you. Hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteSo sad :( I send you hugs and hope for the best!
ReplyDeleteHave faith in prayers and also medicine. Let's hope things will stay as they are if there can't be any improvements.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be in my prayers.
Genevieve
My prayers are with you Carol. Its just so sad to hear you're having a tough time. You're such a lovely person and i hope you won't let it all beat you down, you must try to be strong and believe in your inner strength. It must be incredibly frustrating for such a creative lady such as yourself. Gezza often says to me when i get annoyed "have faith in God, because God is good, his wonders to perform" i hope that gives you some comfort.
ReplyDeleteLove n' hugs n' sugar buns, Tanya xoxoxox
Thank you - each and every one who has left messages of support and sent those prayers heavenwards. I know they will make a difference. Fingers crossed! Big mini hugs, Carol x

hugs
I have sent you an email, please let me know it arrives!
DeleteSOme time has passed since you shared your misfortune, i wonder how you are doing right now. I really hope your disease isn't progressing and the rest you were ordered to keep has helped you. I'm not religious so feel a prayer feels a bit awkward. But i do send you all the positive thought i can come up with, wishing you all the best as creativity is hard to restrict!
ReplyDeleteDear Debora, What a really lovely message and thank you for your good wishes. I am still in a brace but things have not got worse. In fact I think it is time to shake off the self-pity and get back to some blogging and crafting. Thank you again for such kind thoughts. Big hug, Carol x
DeleteHi Carol..... popped onto your blog from another whilst looking at some little dollies....
ReplyDeleteFirst... I hope your wrist doesn't get worse....and perhaps even gets somewhat better with some rest. I, too ..am having trouble with my elbow area and my crafting is non existent right now... ...but, it seems to stem from small motor movements with my finger and thumb.... I'm wondering what the actual medical problem is if you could enlighten me..... I still have no diagnosis for my own problem and would like to read up on anything similar ...
Veronica
I have left you a message on your own lovely blog. Cx
