French Pastry anyone?
At long last I was able to find time to sit down and continue work on my little shop La Vie en Rose. There is still quite a lot to do, but progress is certainly being made on the Patisserie side. I 'baked' lots of little French fancies and lined them up like they do in France. Then I tried my hand at making some gâteaux.
This little display is inspired (heavily!!) by a beautiful two-tier cake stand which I bought from the talented Sarah Maloney.
The space for the table and chair is very small, but big enough for an elegant French lady to sit at and enjoy a morning coffee and pastry during shopping!
Nice to have you back!!!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable!

Absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI would love to sit at the table to eat a cake.
I love the floor. What did you use to make it?

Hi Geneviève, Thank you for your kind words, I used cardboard which I scored or indented with a rounded embossing tool to make the 'tiles'. I then painted them with acrylic paint and sealed the whole lot with a satin clear varnish. Cheap and cheerful! I must go and visit your own blog now, I have a few spare minutes. Carol :)
ReplyDeleteCarol, thank you very much for your answer to my question. The result is amazing. As you say this is a cheap way and it doesn't seem too difficult.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments on my blog.
Hugs
Geneviève
Hi Carol, yours is just the sort of little establishment I would choose when taking time out for a cup of tea and a treat. What happened to the nice little teashops that used to be so popular in every high street? Their disappearance is one of my main complaints about our 'improved' times. I often wish I could step back into a Miss Marple story and share tea and a chat with her. Perhaps you should make a Miss Marple for your tea room, I'm sure she'd love to frequent it!. Keep up the good work, Eli x
ReplyDeleteWonderful display. Can I have a piece of that cherry pie please? Love your work! A hug,
