Les deux Châteaux Margaux

Today I decided to tidy up the files on my computer.  And I was really pleased to find this photo of a magnificent dolls house made by Larry Osborn and Jon Fish of Good Foundations.  It is called Château Margaux and was completed in 1998.  What inspirational work.  I don't know where you would even start with all that moulding!  And the brickwork on the curved cellar ceiling is fantastic - and the simple lights there compared to the stunning chandelier in the hallway.

I then googled the real Château Margaux and found this beautiful photo from vinfolio.com.

What amazing talents the designers and builders of both houses had!

  4. Hi Carol. I've only just got round to blog visiting and for a minute there I thought you'd moved to a chateau. I could certainly live in some of these magnificent dolls houses, they are just amazing. I've always like the idea of making a one twelfth scale model of our house and filling it with miniature replicas of our stuff...... then I look around at the 'stuff' in question and think its perhaps not such a good idea. I wouldn't know where to start. A junk shop might be a better bet! I once made a miniature replica of my bedroom when I was about 12 but I hadn't started collecting then and so it was much easier! We are still confined indoors. I'm fed up with showers. It's sunny as I type but the rain returns every 10 minutes or so and makes the great outdoors less than inviting. It seems set to continue until the end of June at least. Its really depressing. I'm guessing you are getting similar. I shall watch the lunchtime weather forecast and see if you are. Love from a drenched Lakeland, Eli x
